Content and Goals

It is based on scientific study and methods and highly applied in nature. The program is designed to foster a process-oriented and interdisciplinary approach among students. Program content not only includes current trends and methods, but also complex semester projects in which interdisciplinary teams of students drawn from both this program and the other master’s degree programs in Energy Engineering and Water Engineering, also at the El Gouna site, deal with typical problems in a real-world environment.

This program is rooted in the TU Berlin tradition of being the first German institution to provide a full, dedicated program to educate and train urban planners, which TU Berlin began doing decades ago.

Courses are held by ten chairs and academic departments from TU Berlin, supported by research associates from within the specific departments.
